White Blasts Hearn's Claims

Hearn Alleges Breach of Contract

The simmering feud between two of combat sports' most powerful promoters, Dana White and Eddie Hearn, has officially boiled over. Following an appearance on Ariel Helwani’s show, Hearn’s comments immediately made their way to the UFC President, who was met by a scrum of reporters eager for his reaction. According to the questions posed, Hearn suggested there was significant “confusion” regarding their partnership for the historic Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua mega-fight. The Matchroom Boxing chairman reportedly alleged a “breach of contract” and claimed that White’s team would not be handling production, directly contradicting White's previous statements. Hearn even seemed to suggest that this breach was why White was absent from a recent press conference, fueling speculation of serious trouble behind the scenes.

White Shuts Down the 'Confusion'

Dana White, in his signature blunt style, wasted no time dismantling Hearn’s narrative. “What’s the confusion?” he shot back, immediately dismissing the premise. White clarified his absence from the press conference with cold, hard logistics. Firstly, it was held on a Tuesday, the same day as Dana White's Contender Series, an event he claims he hasn't missed in a decade. Secondly, he was already committed to a press conference for a UFC fight in Utah. He added that the date for the boxing presser was specifically chosen to accommodate His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, the chairman of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority. “There’s absolutely zero confusion,” White asserted. “Everything that I have said since however long ago I said it is true.” When asked about Hearn's openness to a meeting, White seemed baffled. “What should we possibly meet about?”

'Sounds Like an Incredible Lawsuit'

The exchange reached its peak when the topic of production control was raised again. When a reporter stated that Hearn seemed to disagree that White’s team would be handling production and viewed it as a breach of contract, the UFC boss leaned into the microphone with a wry smile. “Sounds like he's got an incredible lawsuit,” White quipped, the sarcasm dripping from his words. He laughed off the notion, essentially daring Hearn to challenge him legally. He then emphatically tripled down on his role in the event. “I am producing the fight. I am promoting the fight. I will be there at the fight,” he declared, leaving no room for interpretation. He even detailed his travel plans, noting that he and his entire production crew would be flying from the boxing match in England straight back to Las Vegas for a UFC event, cementing the idea that his team and his resources are central to the operation.

'Why Am I the Main Topic?'

After firmly establishing his position, White’s demeanor shifted from combative to exasperated. He couldn't seem to fathom why the narrative had become about his rivalry with Hearn rather than the colossal fight itself. “This is so silly now,” he began, addressing the reporters. “The fact that you guys are even asking me these questions… if he's on Ariel Helwani for however long he's on, he's talking about me.” When told he was the main topic of Hearn's interview, White let his frustration show. “WHY AM I THE MAIN TOPIC?” he boomed. “AJ and Fury are fighting! Those two are going to make a ton of money. The fight has finally happened.” He seemed genuinely annoyed that the promotional squabbling was overshadowing what should be a celebratory moment for the sport of boxing, reiterating one last time, “Everything that I have said about my involvement in the fight has been absolutely true.” The war of words continues, but for White, the real story is in the ring, not on the airwaves.
